Plugs/wires/cap/rotor changed out. No start persists. I’m now absolutely (95%) convinced that 8 years parked in a Virginia heat barn with no oil circulating/splashing on the nylon timing gear means the nylon deteriorated and I either jumped a tooth or many teeth.
Time for a 3 piece timing kit, new water pump, thermostat, rad hoses, vac lines, fuel filter, serpentine belts, and related gasket kits.
I just pray I don’t have any internal damage.
Fuckitall. So much for an easy flip. Time to rip off all the accessories.

Slow down. Put the balancer on TDC (0 *) Now look if the rotor is pointing to #1 (or 6). If the timing is off, they won’t be lining up.

what else have you done to confirm that it has jumped time?......
